Introduction
Tuesday, February 18, 2014, a suspended Chamblee High School student returned to the plaza across from the school to supposedly sell guns that earlier that week he had stolen from a nearby resident. When a fellow student crossed the street to the plaza where he stood, he asked if he knew of anyone who would have been interested in the weapons he then told him. The student denied and later returned to the school where he told a nearby resource police officer that there was a student with weapons across the street. The police officer called it in and was then told to approach the suspect when he received backup. Later several police officers approach him and arrest him. He does not resist arrest and admits to the robbery of a house nearby. He cooperated very well and told the arresting officers that he had stashed more weapons in the woods behind North DeKalb stadium. Soon several other police officers and police dogs had arrived. The chaos began around 2:20 but the Chamblee HS was not put on lock down until around 3:15; five minutes before expected release. At first the students and several teachers were not aware of why they were suddenly put on lock down but after they heard it was a level three, they became very curious. Via twitter students finally realized the situation and began to take the lock down seriously. It wasn't soon after those rumors of details of the situation spread throughout the school. Some believed that the arrested student was there to cause harm to other students with a plan and a hit-list. Others believed that he was simply trying to make a profit from selling the guns he had recently stolen. Throughout the day rumors were spreading like wild fire as everyone tried to discover the truth about the situation that honestly scared the campus full of students.
Since When Is It Wrong To Try To Make A Profit?
To this day in America, we are still living in a recession. Because of this, one has to do what is necessary to earn a profit. A sixteen year-old student from Chamblee High School believes just that. Earlier this week he broke into a nearby resident and stole several hand and long guns. He then tried to sell them across the street from the school he was recently suspended from. But how do you expect him to earn money if he cannot attend school to steal and sell items less illegally. Everyone is upset with the juvenile but he was just trying to make a living unlike other adults who have simply given up on trying to get a job. This guy shows true perseverance. What was the owner doing with so many guns anyway? Maybe the police should investigate that man! That should be the case everyone looks into not this poor guy who was not trying to cause any harm to anyone. Or maybe we should be looking at the snitch in all of this, who was also a student at Chamblee HS. He was skipping class to go buy a snow cone (in February) when he overheard this entrepreneur trying to do business. The little punk ran back to the school where he told a resource officer about the situation across the street. Superintendent Michael Thurmond later stated to the press, “We’re all so very proud of him doing the right thing at the right time and possibly averting a major tragedy.” Are you congratulating him for skipping school? If that’s the case, then high school students all across America deserve a medal. What’s next? A trophy for every high school drop-out? “Chaos, on top of chaos, on top of chaos,” said Doraville police spokesman Gene Callaway, but this young business man is not the one to blame for all this so called chaos. There were only a few several guns anyway. I mean guns are safe right? They have been seen in so many places (movies, malls, houses, cars, etc.) so they must be safe.
